7/26/2011 - Announcing the release of "Too Much Town" !

We're extremely proud to announce the release of our new CD, "Too Much Town" today! Since our first CD release, El Camino, the band has continued to evolve and grow and we couldn't be prouder of our new work of art! For "Too Much Town" we had the honor of working with Eric "Roscoe" Ambel to produce our album. Roscoe taught us a lot in the studio and really brought our famous high energy sound out for your listening pleasure on the record! We think you will love the rockier tunes this time around (Mama's .45 and Take Me On A Ride) but be equally thrilled with our down home bluegrassy feel that we always bring along (Can That Someone Be You). Not to mention the honky-tonker we included for ya (Barstool). We hope you love it!!! See you soon and we THANK YOU for always being there for us! ~South85

Hello friends and a happy Thursday to ya's. South85 has had lots going on and and bunch of good stuff coming for you soon!

First on the list - our own Kathy Neal will be a married woman as of this Saturday 5/15/2010! Kathy will be marrying her long-time partner-in-crime, Bill Noonan (of Bill Noonan and The Barbed Wires, formerly of The Rank Outsiders). Congratulations Kathy and Bill!

We are nearly ready to start tracking our new CD (title yet to be decided on). We have some really great new material lined up that we have been very excited about, and we really hope you will enjoy it.

South85 also will be returning to Mac's Speedshop on South Blvd on Wednesday, June 2nd for our first Bike Night of the summer. Mac's is a great venue with excellent food and atmosphere, so come on out and bring a friend! 12/29/2009 - Happy New Year from South85!

Hello again friends! We hope all of you had a wonderful, safe Holiday Season, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for making 2009 a great year for South85.

We would also like to throw out a big "Hell Yeah!" to The Blue Dogs and The Neighborhood Theatre for giving us the opportunity to share the stage with such a great band last Saturday. It was an experience we won't soon forget!

As 2009 is closing its doors, South85 has many things in the works for the upcoming year. We are nearly complete with the demo phase for our next studio album and hope to start recording as soon as possible. We also recently posted a new live track of the Little Feat classic "Willin" on our MySpace page, so be sure to check it out and let us know what you think! We hope to be touring to many new areas in the coming year, so be sure to check the Tour Dates page regularly to see if we're coming to a venue near you.

As always, thank you so much for your love and support, and we'll see you in 2010!

Tracy, Kathy, Mike, Ashley, Andy, and Eric

11/19/2009 - The 3rd Annual South85 Interstate Jam

A couple of years ago, we decided as a group to host our own special concert event, helping showcase bands from the Carolinas. Each year we hope to expose new music to new fans. We always aim to include acts that "cross the lines" of the Carolinas up and down that charging I-85 Interstate! This year we are excited to announce the lineup will include The Smokey Joe Show and John Howie Jr and the Sweethearts! John Howie Jr (of the Two Dollar Pistols) and Billie Feather (of Darnell Woodies) join up for a special duo performance for us! South85 will of course close the evening down and it all will be taking place at our favorite honky-tonk Pucketts in Charlotte, NC this Saturday, 11/21/2009. Tickets will be $10 and we hope you all can come out for an early Thanksgiving break shindig!
